Education is a natural process carried out by the human individual, and is ac- quired not by listening to words, but by experiences in the environment.” -~Dr. Maria Montessori

Fall is upon us, even if it still feels like summer! We are feeling the days get shorter and the nights getting longer. It is at this time of year that we have begun to really settle in our daily routines in our classrooms. The real work begins when we are settled and can spend time prac- ticing our work.

Thank you so much for your support at our Book Fair this year! School earned $920 worth of books. Each classroom got all of the books on their wish lists and then some! Thank you also for attending back to school night! We hope you met some other families, made some friends and learned something new about your child’s work day!

We are participating in “The Great California Shake-Out” on 10/20 at 10:20. The children will be practicing what to do during an earthquake. Prepare yourselves for possible questions about earthquakes.

Our Jog-a-Thon is coming up on October 21st! This year, we are excited to have the help of a volunteer group of young marines who will help to motivate the chil- dren to keep jogging and will help out with the set-up and clean-up of our event. We also have a GREAT team of parent volun- teers who have already begun the process of putting together this exciting event! We hope you are excited too and are ask- ing friends, families and neighbors for pledges for this super fun fundraiser!

The Preschoolers, Infants and Toddlers will end this month’s activities with our annual Halloween Parade! We will trick-r- Treat through the plaza and end up marching through Lake Park for the big finish! You are welcome to come march along with us! Our Elementary Students will be presenting their Human Values Oral Reports. Each student will present a report, in costume, about a great role model. Every class will end the morning with a Halloween Party with lunch and treats! It is never boring here at MSO!

This is the time of year where we tend to get really, super busy! We never plan time to just be together in peace and quiet. It shouldn’t be a luxury to enjoy a relaxing day together…just lounging about! We give you permission!

Thank you for all your love at support!
