Welcome Back to School! We are so excited to begin the 2021-2022 School Year! Thank you for your patience with all of the Covid-19 policies and procedures. Please welcome Ms. Melissa to the Assistant Director Position at our school! We are happy to have her back at our school after venturing out into the world for 8 years! We are thrilled that she is part of our administrative team! A few reminders to get the year started off right!

School Hours are 7 am to 5 pm Until Further Notice

Please remember to always sign your child in and out! And get here in plenty of time to wait in case there are a lot of drop-offs at the same time! Please label any and all items that come to school! You will never regret the time you took to label items when it comes time to finding them! Preschool Morning Circle Begins at 8:30 sharp! Students should be here by 8:30 or don’t come in until after 9 so that you do not disturb the focus of circle time.

Elementary Morning Circle starts at 8 am. Please be sure to get here early enough to have your child’s temperature checked and for you to sign in before class starts. Please do not enter the class during Circle Time.

Back to School Nights

Due to Covid-19 our Back to School Nights will look a little different. Every child from Rooms 2,3.6 and 7 need to be picked up by 5 pm on September 8th. One parent from each family can stay for the presentation in class, but we are not able to provide daycare, and your child cannot stay for the presentation. Every child from Rooms 1,4,5 and 8 need to be picked up by 5 pm on September 9th. One parent from each family can stay for the presentation in class, but we are not able to provide daycare and your child cannot stay for the presentation.

We realize this will take some planning, especially for those of you with more than one child at MSO. Please RSVP to your child’s teacher to let them know you on coming!

Jog a Thon: Our annual Jog a Thon will be on October 22nd. We are looking for some parent volunteers to provide prizes and to come to the event to set up the track, set up the canopies, and count laps as the children run.

We will have our Halloween Parade on October 29th at Lake Park. Like last year, we are inviting all of you AWESOME parents to set up down at Lake Park (socially distanced, of course) bring unopened candy, wear masks (even though it is outdoors), and gloves to pass out candy to all of the children at the school. It was so much fun last year! A lot of parents wore costumes and decorated up their little candy stations. We will play music and the classes will come one by one.

The elementary students will have their oral reports on the 28th and the 29th as well.

Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place from November 3rd-12th. Stay tuned for sign-up times from your child’s teacher.

Thanksgiving Feast: Our classroom feasts will be held on the 19th of November. Look out for sign-up sheets for foods to bring for the feast! We will not gather as a whole school but will eat as usual with our own classes.

Holiday Celebrations: We need to remain flexible with our plans for this event. If we can, we will have a party…if it is not safe to gather, we will send home a video of the children’s performances.

Look out for the next newsletter to be published in January. In the meantime, enjoy your weekly parent newsletter and all of the great photos you get, weekly, in your email inbox!
