“This time of year seems to go by in the blink of an eye…be sure to stop and smell the roses along the way!

The holiday season is officially upon us! Our Halloween Parade and Party are behind us and we prepare now for the season of giving thanks! Many of the children at our school are very young and it is likely that they won’t remember too much about the holidays. You can be sure that they will remember how it makes them feel! They will learn what they live and if we make this a stressful, hurried time that is what they will take from the holiday experience! Plan out some family traditions and make the “Thanksgiving “ season just that…a time to give thanks! Children are capable of putting together self-care kits and giving them to a homeless shelter or to a homeless person directly. Something simple will make a lasting impression on your child! Teaching the lesson of the value of others will leave a lasting impression on you! We will do a socks and mitten drive here at MSO. That is a great way to get your child thinking about others! We will have a box in the lobby beginning November 23rd for you to place your contributions in.

November 13th we will give out our Jog-a-Thon awards. We will have an assembly on our playground to celebrate the hard work of the runners and the fundraisers!

Our Thanksgiving luncheon will be Friday November 20th. Each class can only have 2 parent volunteers, so be sure to get your name in there early! Be on the lookout November 9th for a sign-up sheet for the ingredients for our feast.

Remember…take time to stop and smell the roses! Ms. Janaki and Mrs. Dodd
